US companies are estimated to lose up to $1.7 trillion by 2030 and global industry up to $8.45 trillion* due to the lack of skilled employees.  CTE instruction provides students with academics and real-world technical skills to help prepare them for college and the workforce to fill this skills gap. Learn more about how the Mountainland CTE Region is working to empower Utah!
The EPA’s Office of Environmental Education has opened applications for the 2025 President’s Environmental Youth Awards (PEYA) and the Presidential Innovation Awards for Environmental Educators (PIAEE), with a deadline of December 1, 2025. These national awards honor K–12 students and educators who demonstrate exceptional environmental stewardship, creativity, and innovation in projects or teaching practices that protect natural resources and promote environmental awareness.
Utah State University will host the Future Educators Summit on April 14, 2026, offering students a hands-on look at teaching careers through campus experiences and interactions with faculty. CTE educators are encouraged to invite students in Agriculture, Business, Family and Consumer Sciences, Technology and Engineering, and Earth Science—especially those who enjoy leadership or helping others. The event highlights pathways into education and helps students see how their strengths align with the profession, with more details and registration information coming soon.
