Utah high school seniors—now is the time to apply for the CTE Scholarships and Tuition Awards! These awards provide eligible CTE students with tuition support at participating Utah technical colleges, community colleges, and universities.

All applications are due by 11:59 PM on Friday, January 30, 2026.
Late applications will not be reviewed. (Apply Here)

Thanksgiving break is the perfect chance to start your essays, reflect on your CTE experiences, and prepare your required documents—all without the stress of homework or exams.


What Is the CTE Scholarship?

The CTE Scholarship and Tuition Award is designed for Utah seniors planning to continue their education in a CTE-related program. Awards may include a full year of tuition, depending on the institution.

Participating schools include Utah’s technical colleges (like MTECH ), community colleges, and universities such as UVU.


Essay Questions You’ll Need to Answer

These prompts are your chance to tell your story—be specific, honest, and connect everything to your career pathway:

  1. Work-Based Learning Experience
    How did your internship, externship, or apprenticeship prepare you for your future goals?

  2. CTSO Participation
    What leadership and durable skills did you gain through DECA, HOSA, SkillsUSA, FCCLA, FFA, FBLA, etc.?

  3. Leadership, Citizenship & Service
    What roles or service opportunities helped shape your skills?

  4. Educational & Occupational Plan
    Outline your future education steps, institutions, programs, and anticipated completion dates.

  5. How CTE Prepared You for Life
    How did your CTE courses give you an advantage for college and career?

  6. Advice to Future Students
    Why should students take CTE courses?

  7. Influential Educator
    Who made a real impact on your career choice?


What You’ll Need Before Submitting

Gather these items before you start the Adobe Sign application:

  • Signed USBE Media Release Form

  • Letter of recommendation from a CTE teacher

  • Signed unofficial transcript with CTE courses highlighted

  • CTE Career Pathway information

  • Any CTE Skill Certifications you’ve earned


Key Dates

  • Application Opens: November 3, 2025

  • Application Due: January 30, 2026, by 11:59 PM

  • Award Notifications: February–March 2026
