High school juniors and seniors interested in transportation careers are invited to take part in an exciting Open House hosted by Utah Valley University’s Applied Engineering & Transportation Technologies Department. The event will take place on Tuesday, October 7, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Sparks Automotive Building, located at 800 W. University Parkway, Orem, UT 84058. This hands-on experience is designed to introduce students to the world of automotive, diesel, and collision repair programs while giving them an inside look at UVU’s industry-leading training facilities.UVU Transportation Open House Flyer

During the open house, students will tour UVU’s professional automotive and diesel labs, meet instructors with real-world industry expertise, and explore the advanced equipment used daily by technicians in the field. Programs within UVU’s transportation technologies division prepare students for high-demand careers—including Automotive Technology, Diesel Mechanics, and Collision Repair—through hands-on learning, ASE-aligned curriculum, and opportunities to work with the latest diagnostic tools and repair systems. UVU’s programs emphasize both technical skill and problem-solving, preparing graduates for careers in repair shops, fleet maintenance, manufacturing, performance tuning, body shops, and other fast-growing sectors of the transportation industry.

Guests will also learn about pathways to certificates and degrees, industry partnerships, job placement opportunities, and how UVU students gain experience through internships, lab work, and collaboration with local employers. The event also includes a complimentary lunch, giving visitors a chance to connect with faculty, advisors, and current students who can share insights about training and career options.

This open house is a perfect opportunity for teens who love engines, technology, problem-solving, or hands-on learning to explore future careers in automotive, diesel, or collision repair. Whether students are considering technical training or simply curious about transportation technologies, UVU welcomes them to discover what makes its programs some of the most respected in the region.
