Utah Valley University recently hosted another successful MakerCon, bringing together educators, students, administrators, andMakercon Flyer  community members for two days of creativity, hands-on exploration, and innovative learning. Held October 10–11, 2025, the event transformed UVU into a vibrant hub of making, building, experimenting, and collaboration—all centered around the belief that students learn best when they engage with real tools, real challenges, and real problem-solving.

The first day of MakerCon welcomed educators, curriculum developers, school leaders, STEM/STEAM coordinators, librarians, and art educators to a dynamic professional development experience. Participants immersed themselves in interactive workshops, explored practical strategies for integrating maker principles into classroom instruction, and connected with peers passionate about hands-on learning. Exhibitors showcased emerging technologies, classroom-ready resources, and new methods for sparking student creativity and curiosity.

The second day opened the doors to K–12 students, families, makers, and the general public—free of charge. Children and teens had the chance to build, tinker, design, and experiment at activity stations staffed by UVU students and volunteers. From engineering challenges and digital fabrication to robotics and art-based projects, families were able to experience the powerful impact of maker education firsthand.

MakerCon continues to grow each year, offering educators and students alike a chance to stay informed about the latest trends in maker-centered learning while celebrating the joy of creative problem-solving. UVU’s commitment to fostering innovation and hands-on discovery ensures that MakerCon remains a highlight event for Utah’s education and maker communities.
