Welcome to Mountainland CTE

Welcome to the Utah Mountainland Region Career and Technical Education website.  Career and Technical Education, often referred to as CTE, works to offer secondary and postsecondary students access to courses that promote high-wage, high-skill, and high-demand career pathways. The Mountainland Region represents seven school districts (Nebo, Provo, Alpine, Park City, North Summit, South Summit, and Wasatch), five charter schools (American Leadership  Academy, Freedom Preparatory Academy, Utah County Academy of Sciences,  Rockwell, and Merit), MTECH and UVU.

Career and Technical education is essential in preparing middle school, junior high, and high school students for post-secondary education, enabling them to compete in an ever-expanding global economy.  US companies alone are estimated to lose up to $1.7 trillion by 2030 and global industry up to $8.45 trillion* due to the lack of skilled employees.  CTE instruction provides students with academics and real-world technical skills to help prepare them for college and the workforce to fill this skills gap.  CTE empowers Utah and its surrounding communities.  At substantial cost savings to parents, students can explore new career paths, and deep dive into topics they are passionate about through CTE.
