On May 15th, the Spanish Fork Rodeo Grounds buzzed with excitement as nearly 3,000 seventh-grade students from Nebo and Provo School Districts gathered for the annual Nebo CTE Expo—a hands-on celebration of Career and Technical Education designed to open
doors to future career pathways. With perfect weather and high energy, the event offered students an immersive chance to explore the world of CTE through interactive games, demonstrations, and real-world career experiences.
Throughout the day, students rotated through dozens of engaging booths representing fields such as welding, aviation, robotics, digital technology, public safety, health science, and more. They watched live demonstrations, tested equipment, participated in mini challenges, and asked questions directly to industry partners, CTE teachers, and high school program leaders. From trying welding tools to racing student-built vehicles, practicing CPR, exploring aviation technology, and meeting bomb squad robots, students discovered the skills and creativity behind Utah’s high-demand, high-wage career fields.
Local businesses and community partners also played a vital role, offering insight into real workforce needs and helping students see how their current interests could translate into meaningful future careers. The Expo highlighted the strength of regional collaboration between Nebo and Provo School Districts, UVU, MTECH, and local industry—showcasing how communities can come together to support student growth and innovation.
The Nebo CTE Expo continues to be a cornerstone event, sparking curiosity and empowering young learners to see themselves as future creators, builders, innovators, and leaders. With thousands of students inspired and countless pathways illuminated, the day was a powerful reminder of the importance of early career exploration and the bright future ahead for Utah’s next generation of trendsetters.
