Utah’s middle school STEM enthusiasts are gearing up for one of the most exciting academic competitions of the year—the UtahUCAS Stem Bowl Flyer County STEM Bowl, taking place on September 20th, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM at 940 W 800 S, Orem, Utah. Hosted by UCAS, this high-energy event brings together 7th–9th grade students for a full day of challenges in science, technology, engineering, and math—complete with prizes, hands-on activities, and opportunities to meet STEM professionals.

Teams will kick off the event with a placement exam to determine seeding, and depending on participation, competitors will be divided into two divisions to ensure a fair and exciting tournament. After rankings are set, teams will face off in a knockout-style speed trivia competition until a champion is crowned. Study materials will be sent out in advance so students can prepare for the big day. While teams of three are encouraged, individual students are welcome—organizers will happily place solo competitors on a team.

In addition to the main trivia tournament, students can dive into multiple hands-on activities throughout the day. Competitions include a bottle rocket launch, a surprise engineering challenge, and a Rubik’s Cube contest where participants can show off their fastest solves. During breaks, students can visit booths hosted by local businesses, colleges, and STEM professionals to explore real-world STEM pathways and opportunities in the community.

All competition winners will receive prizes, making the day both fun and rewarding for students across the county. Whether you compete, cheer on your classmates, or just enjoy the activities, the Utah County STEM Bowl promises a memorable day of learning, teamwork, and innovation.
