In a proud moment for Provo City School District, the Mountainland Region, and the state of Utah, Jan Jardine, District Work-Based Learning (WBL) Coordinator and Provo CAPS Director, has been recognized with the 2023 National ACTE Lifetime Achievement and Hall of Fame Award. This esteemed accolade, presented by the Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE), honors outstanding career and technical education (CTE) educators who exemplify innovation, dedication to students, and a commitment to advancing CTE in their institutions and communities.
With an impressive 22-year career in CTE, Jardine's journey began as a Business, Marketing, and Computer teacher, where she dedicated 13 years to shaping young minds. Her passion for connecting learning to the real 
world led her to transition into Work-Based Learning, a move that showcased her vision for expanding opportunities for students. As the ACTE Work-Based Learning Division Vice President, Jardine has become a prominent figure in championing the transformative impact of WBL and building valuable partnerships.
Mrs. Jardine emphasizes the importance of educators sharing their stories, believing that by showcasing the incredible work happening in classrooms, more support can be garnered from the community and business partners. Beyond her professional achievements, Jardine finds joy in spending time with her family, including her supportive husband, eight children, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, and a delightful grandson.
As one of the top five finalists for the 2024 national title, Jan's exceptional contributions to CTE and her commitment to student success shone brightly and ultimately led to her win. The national winner was revealed at the ACTE Awards Gala on November 29, 2023, where the best CTE educators from across the country were celebrated. Jan Jardine's recognition is a testament to her unwavering dedication to the field and her impactful role in shaping the future of career and technical education.
